Etched Essence is a family-run personalised engraving business based in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. Founded by James and Marie, we create gifts and keepsakes that make names, moments and stories part of something you can hold on to. From a single engraved coaster to a coordinated set of wedding favours, we enjoy taking an idea and making it personal.
Personalised engraving for everyday moments and big occasions
Our range brings together engraved wooden gifts, slate keepsakes, drinkware, glass, acrylic and selected metal pieces. We work on wedding details, birthday and family gifts, baby keepsakes, local landmark designs and remembrance items. We also help businesses, clubs and event organisers with branded products, awards and larger orders.
Not every idea fits neatly into an existing product listing. If you have a favourite saying, a design, a logo or an occasion that calls for something different, send us an enquiry. We can discuss suitable materials, the wording you have in mind and whether a bespoke design is possible.
Wedding gifts, favours and digital memories
Weddings are a big part of what we do. From personalised wedding favours and table names to bridal-party and groomsmen gifts, we offer pieces to suit different budgets, styles and celebrations. Our wider wedding collection includes cake accessories, keepsakes, drinkware and finishing touches.
We also developed ETCHŌ, our audio and photo guestbook, so wedding and event guests can leave voice messages and photographs using a QR code. For live celebrations, we offer on-site engraving experiences and can discuss how personalisation might work at your event.
Made in Cumbria, with a personal approach
We are based in Barrow-in-Furness and are proud of our connections with Ulverston and the surrounding area. You will find local designs in our Ulverston collection, alongside a broader range of gifts available through our online shop.
Each product page sets out the available options. Where a product can be personalised, check the names, dates and spelling carefully before you order. A proof can be requested where appropriate.
